  L'extravergine 2009 - copertina

The LE.VI Olive Oil plantation is situated in the "Alto Tavoliere" region of Apulia (Puglia) and this is its first appearance in our Guidebook.
It has been featured so as to stress the importance of the olives grown in this area, particularly the "Peranzana" variety grown here.

In 2006, the owner of the farm, Pasquale Lembo, who had been growing olives and producing olive oil here for over 50 years, opened this production plant. At the moment, 10 hectares of olive groves encompass one thousand olive trees.

The last oil season produced some 498 hundred kilograms of olives which, in addition to 181 hundred kilograms purchased from other local growers, had a yield of more than 110 hectolitres of extra virgin oil. LE.VI extra virgin oil has a clear yet intense golden yellow colour with a green hue.
It has a well-balanced and refined aroma that is rich in fruity notes of green tomatoes, banana, white apples with a top fragrance of officinalis herbs with distinct traces of parsley and basil.

The taste is delicate and mellow with tones of lettuce and celery and a nutty aftertaste that lingers on the palate. The bitter bite and peppery tones are balanced in equal measure.
LE.VI extra virgin oil is ideal with hors d'oeuvres of salmon, marinated fish, bean salads, vegetable soups, first courses of shellfish, roasted fish, white meats and goat's cheese.
